The South Atlantic Humanities Center has the honor of hosting the 2nd Annual Meeting of the National Consortium of Regional Humanities Centers. It's all our good fortune to gather in Georgia's First City, Savannah — an historic and influential port city in the heart of the South Atlantic region. A model of engagement with, and commitment to, preserving and learning from the historic heritage, the City of Savannah can truly be thought of as constituting a great humanities library. | ||
| We are honored to acknowledge a special debt to the Georgia Humanities Council for its generous collaboration with this Meeting. | |||
| For their kind cooperation with our public program, "The South Atlantic's CHANGING PLACES," we gratefully recognize the Georgia Humanities Council, First African Baptist Church, Historic Savannah Foundation, Coastal Heritage Society, Georgia Historical Society, Massie School, Southern Arts Federation, and other local, state, and regional institutions. | |||
| The South Atlantic Humanities Center (SAHC), a partnership of the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities, Virginia Tech, and the University of Virginia, is dedicated to furthering public humanities in the South Atlantic region (Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, and Virginia on the mainland; Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands in the Caribbean). | |||
